Anyways, Happy Holidays and Happy New Years Everyone! I hope 2026 is as good as gaming for you as it was for me this past year! Remember we all love to play games and thats all that matters in the end.

But what were your games of the year? Did you make a decent dent in your backlog or did you end up piling on some more? No judgement! Trust my backlog has barely moved as most of these games i bought this year hahaha

So yeah, A game I just picked up on a whim ended up being my favorite game of the year that ended up surpassing the game I waited 7 years for. That's some BS I know, but that's gaming I guess.

and LITERALLY just RPing walking down the streets of night city. CRINGE I KNOW. getting choked up at characters deaths because I got invested in their lives, genuinely caring about certain outcomes of jobs to the point of creating multiple backup saves. This game did something to me. (cont.)

1. CyberPunk 2077
I only bought this game because i wanted something else to play besides Mario Kart on Switch 2 launch. booted it up and messed around a bit before putting it down. picked it up again and actually played. next thing i know I'm doing every side mission, buying random clothing, (cont)

2. SilkSong.
WHAT THE FUCK. #2. I KNOW. Truly a masterpiece upon masterpieces. I waited so long for this game to be released and it delivered on everything promised and more. I took my sweet lime playing and loved every second of it, but I knew I was going to love it and it hurts being #2 but,

3. Silent Hill f
My second true love of gaming is Horror. This game felt like the return home of a dearly missed loved one. This experience will be something I remember for a very long time. My friends and I did a playthrough together, I intend to to the rest on my own and I am very VEY excited.

4. Flyknight
"Its like Dark Souls, but its first person... and you're a fly." Sold. I really wish I had more to say. I'm just a sucker for a silly little gimmick and souls likes.

5. Prince of Persia: The Lost
Metroidvanias are my favorite genre of gaming and when i heard this was one of the best I had to pick it up. Its extremely unfortunate what happened to the studio, because what they created is truly amazing. Definitely 100% completed this on my own :)

6. Donkey Kong Bananza
This game was PHENOMENAL! One of the best 3D platformer collect-a-tons I have ever played. I think its going to go down as a must play in the Switch 2s history and I loved every second of it. Now why is this game so low...

7. Pokemon Legends Z-A
Pokemon on the Nintendo fanboys list? how original. LISTEN, this was such a refreshing take on pokemons battle system that the series desperately needed! Do I think the series will adopt this going forward? NO, BUT GOD DO I HOPE THEY MAKE MORE OF THESE GAMES.

8. Dredge.
"oh its finally on sale. I'll pick up the base game and maybe buy the DLC if i like it." One sleepless night later and i've completely the game and have purchased both DLCs haha I didn't expected this fishing game to HOOK me the way that it did, but I loved every second of this CATCH.

9. Lunistice.
Played this demo and fell in love. a short experience but well polished and you can feel it. I see that some updates might be coming and I cannot wait this was such a delight. If you enjoy speed run challenges I suggest you give this little platformer a try!
