What a weird take for a company where double-digit % of employees are not US nationals.

There used to be (I used to have) a hope, maybe naive, that connecting people would help us humans see our shared humanity, and stop exploiting & murdering each other. This feels like turning a back on that, at least a little. That makes me sad.

For what it's worth, it's one of those things that does get easier with practice! It does remain exhausting (for me at least), but definite change in degree.

Did you find it fun / enjoyable / to be a cheat code to networking?

Is exactly what I did too! Theory: Meta is large enough that the internal "social network" is plenty large, so there's less motivation to engage with the *real* social networks.

This internet experiment is now the only form of proof I will accept about whether it's possible to cross from over there on the left, to over here on the right, using only Google Street View clicks.
