Did you do a thumbnail or anything beforehand or did this composition just pop out fully formed?

I'm frustrated enough with it that part of me wants to say “draw a top down pose from reference every day for a month“ until the shapes start clicking… and another part of me just wants to go back to perspectives that don't make me scream.
