...and they worked almost immediately. Her grades improved drastically from 10th grade to now. she wishes she started earlier.

yeah my daughter was always a slob, for example. The kind that left doors open and caps off, etc. But the true executive dysfunction wasnt clear until middle school when the workload changed and she couldnt keep organized even after paid coaching and tons of strategies. Meds were the last option...

my advice to you with your second born is that if you suspect that she has legit executive functioning issues that could be ADHD, nip that in the bud early. It was like night and day when my daughter went on her meds at the end of ninth grade.

she definitely has a type of street smarts about her that my son doesn’t have, like she’s quicker to pivot, etc. I don’t worry about her future necessarily. I’m just really leery about all the money I’m going to spend for college if she doesn’t actually go.

at that age doesn’t matter quite as much. What set this off today for me is that she was an hour late for school on a day that didn’t start until 11, and then also found out she didn’t complete a college application properly (her fault for not responding to emails) and it’s too late to fix

my son, a sophomore at college, has always been an on-time, go-to-class person. My daughter, a senior in HS, seems to be a minimum 5 minutes late, it-doesnt-really-matter-that-I-go-to-class-we're-literally-doing-nothing person
