Ha! I didn't know but it seems he was only 5ft 6! My mum's favourite was John Gregson. I still watch Whiskey Galore every time it's on 😂

They didn't speak of it much. Mum worked on the aircraft, repairing the Lancaster bombers. Her claim to fame was that Alan Ladd visited once and they made a camel coat for him and she sewed one of the sleeves!

It's sad. I wish I'd listened better when my dad, who was a fireman on LMS railway during the war (call them drivers mate now) and how he said he saw the doodlebugs coming over.
