This may be an obvious point, but I suppose this is because fans are used to their own team's broadcasters, who are usually openly rooting for their team. Any movement towards impartiality seems like a slight on their team through that lens.

Blocking pitches in the dirt and throwing out would be base stealers will be the main (only?) defensive skills left that matter. So yeah, I'd think we'll see an increase in offensive production at catcher. Willson Contreras was born a decade too early!

I've been on Wegovy for just over one year and haven't puked yet. Unfortunately it's the other end for me if I overeat. Turns out living in constant fear of shitting yourself in public is a wildly effective weight loss tool!

The bunt defense was so much fun. He and Javy in the same infield made the Cubs nearly impossible to bunt against, which was a big deal when pitchers were still hitting.

I kind of figured we'd start seeing the occasional "We're 90% locked into the top wild card slot" lineup sometime soon. Not complaining btw.

JD is great. Boog is fine during a good game, annoying in games where filler is needed. No other TV combo they use works at all.

The offense sucking is on the hitters because they are supposed to be be good. The pitching sucking is Jed's fault, because anyone could look at them ahead of time and see that they kind of suck and Jed needed to get better guys.

Amed Rosario of the Nats seems like another potential 3B/utility target that I don't think I've seen mentioned anywhere. Not really an exciting one, but outside of Geno I don't believe there is one.

I admit this is drifting pretty close to tinfoil hat territory, but could it be that the Cubs REALLY don't want to trade Wiggins, so they don't want teams to get a look at him right now in fear that they would insist on him as a key component in a trade?
