And that is one reason why men protect patriarchy way more than women do, despite it harming us both. It is hard to understand how you would benefit from healing something that is so broken you don't even know you're supposed to have it.
I sometimes see cis-women misunderstand male socialization as resulting in men just not expressing the feelings they have. It's actually much worse. Men often prevent themselves from feeling the emotions at all. They repress and cut themselves off from fundamental parts of who they are.
