He was the Board Chair at my work and was trying to reach a co-worker. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have known it was him or for reals. It was especially funny because I never ever got phone calls or had any interaction with him.

Saw Alice Cooper at baggage claim at JFK. Rode in an elevator with Al Sharpton several times. Every time, he looked right past me and whoever else was in there, straight to the mirror to fix his hair.

Yes, whether a translator, added author, curator, etc is included on the title page makes a difference in whether or not the info gets an added author entry (700 field) that makes it easily searchable in library catalogs. Some catalogers will add info from the colophon, but it’s not reliable.

This is true for lots of bibliographic info. If it’s on the title page there should be an added entry (700 added author). Special Collections will include info from the colophon, but many general collections will not. Something for authors, translators and publishers to keep in mind!

I had bacterial meningitis when I was 2. Was in a coma, close to death, spent 10 days in ICU (1st memories). Awful traumatic experience for my parents. Yet my mother, a smart and thoughtful person, sent me anti-vax bs to try to discourage me from getting my child the COVID vaccine. Inscrutable.

Same! Although my kid also didn’t know why his classmates are saying it or why the teachers are freaking out about it. It was a good excuse to show him search strategies (he is generally unimpressed by my librarian skills).

Wandering the Presidio and ending up at Crissy Field Beach. Walking from Aquatic Park to Ft. Mason (always something interesting going on there). Non-touristy ferry rides (Richmond ferry goes to the Rosie the Riveter National Historic Park). Asawa show at SFMOMA is gorgeous.
