Very probable. It's not exactly an intuitive name and it's probably one of those "at this point, I'm too afraid to ask" sort of situations for a lot of people.

I imagine "daily fun-time scrums" is where we all get to "plan out" how much "fun" we're going to have working on this job "together", "as a family" and how working for our corporate overlords is fun actually I swear please take up my time more please I love telling you how much I love working

What the other person described is a standup meeting, not scrum.

Scrum more or less is the project management strategy of breaking up projects into two to four week "sprints" each containing some specific set of goals/milestones. Repeat until the project is complete.
