And the situation for Lebanese – with the key exception people affected/displaced by the last war – doesn't seem to be deteriorating appreciably. Situation seems stable, for the time being.

I dunno, half of that food insecure population is Syrian and Palestinian, and the rate among Lebanese nationals is less extreme (if still not especially good). I think there are support mechanisms for Lebanese, at least, that we don't fully understand, and that don't figure into many analyses…

The country may have arrived at a new stable (worse, obviously) economic equilibrium, though.

The crisis's effects on the underclass have also been blunted, maybe by dynamics in the informal economy – seems we've avoided the extremes of privation that would be really system-threatening.

Syria announces that March 18 will be its official Revolution Day:

sana.sy/en/presidenc...

For years, celebrations were held on March 15, despite the fact that the Deraa uprising happened on March 18, 2011.

Here’s my 2021 essay on how that came to be:

2. File with your SF-50 and SF-8, but don’t wait.
3. File for UI even if you are challenging your termination.
4. Don’t panic if you get a $0 monetary determination.
