Anonymous source from weeks ago who has never come forward and no one has corroborated. But sure, let's take it as gospel truth.

So many lazy and dumb out of state takes. How will they respond if Platner is the nominee which is a distinct possibility? I doubt even that will make them reconsider their knee-jerk dismissal of anyone with a past they don't like.

I am genuinely confused as to why Jackson would be the Supreme to do this. I know it is her Federal Court District (1), but why would she intervene to stop the payments? It is horrible politics and nothing in her record supports a unitary executive.

What nerve we Mainers have for weighing in on our own election. It's not up for debate and already decided, according to randos from Ohio and Texas.
November 8, 2025 at 9:45 AM
We always get a lot of candidates who have minimal roots in Maine (summered here, were born here but moved away). They come back to run for office, because they think it is a small, provincial state so it will be easy to overwhelm it with ads and sneak into a senate or house seat. Never works.
November 7, 2025 at 1:15 PM
He led that "mothership" scam PAC for the past few years. Took in a couple hundred million dollars, gave back something like 11 million to candidates. I live in Maine but don't trust me, Google it. Someone who scammed Democrats out of millions and destroyed fundraising will never have traction here.

This is an insane ratings change. I live in this district. It was Republican for only 4 years before Golden won it. Before that, it was Democratic for almost 2 decades. It's never been a likely Republican district, and in a blue year, it's at least a toss-up. Especially against washed-up old LePage.
November 6, 2025 at 10:17 AM
Because that was the wing of the party (which is everyone except leadership in DC) that was going to get him booted in the primary. I live in his district, and he has been trashing the mainstream Dems who got him elected for years. Indivisible is huge up here, and he attacks us as dark money shills.
November 6, 2025 at 10:09 AM
Yep, I'm also from his district. The national media is so frustrating. Lazy takes accepting Golden's reasons at face value. He is burned out (never goes to any events, hasn't met with constituents in years). But he was losing his primary and that's why he's gone. We will work hard and keep the seat.
November 6, 2025 at 10:04 AM
Those of us who live in his district are used to him saying a lot of things, many of them not true. He has burned every bridge with his Democratic constituents. Golden was destined to lose in the primary, and we are thrilled we have a shot at electing a real, honest Dem next year.
November 6, 2025 at 2:03 AM
Could not have said it better. He hasn't liked his Dem constituents for a long time, and abandoned even attending Democratic caucus meetings in Congress in 2021. I can't imagine he will campaign for or even endorse the Democratic nominee. Such a bitter, sad little self-important man. Good riddance.
November 6, 2025 at 1:51 AM
People act like we've never elected Dems up here in CD2. Michaud and Baldacci had long tenures, and there is a good chance many Trump 2024 voters will stay home. There is a very active Dem base up here that Golden has been trashing for years. We can and will work hard to ride that blue wave.
November 6, 2025 at 1:34 AM
I live in MECD2. He was destined to lose the primary. He has been checked out for years. No constituent service, no town halls, hasn't attended a Democratic caucus meeting since 2021 (brags about it). We've elected Dems here recently, and there is high energy to get a real Dem in our seat.
November 6, 2025 at 1:30 AM
Golden is despised in CD2 by most Democrats. He would have lost the primary. He considers any Dems to be "the radical left," constantly praising Republicans and trashing Dems. We have elected Democrats in the district recently (Michaud and Baldacci). Lotta joy up here, no insanity, chill out.

And Virginia may be saying to California "hold my beer." Let's get another 3-4 seats with a gerrymander there after last night's resounding victories in VA.

Were they also counting on holding Hispanic gains in the new Texas gerrymander? Maybe they can't depend on 5 seat gain there now?

Thank you Michelle for visiting us in Maine and getting a more accurate representation of what is going on here. And now welcome to the crazy echo chamber that is the self-righteous bluesky Platner cancel club, where no past mistakes are ever forgiven, and anyone who supports him is a racist Nazi.
October 31, 2025 at 12:51 PM
I am so very sorry for your loss. She must have been so proud of you, and it's wonderful you have her lovely art to bring smiles to you whenever you need them.
October 25, 2025 at 2:19 AM
Thank you for respecting the voters of Maine to make this decision. It's a hard one. Mills can't win in the general, the others in the primary are weak. Establishment cleared the field for Mills and screwed us. Platner is connecting with Mainers. These sh%t posters are doing Collins' work for her.
October 24, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Do a little research on DemocracyFIRST, which he led for the past few years. It perfected the art of spamming for PAC bucks through texts and emails. He's never going to poll above 2 percent here in Maine. Everyone hates that spam.
October 24, 2025 at 8:05 PM
I'm in Maine too. That's the Dem consensus around here (coastal area not far from where Platner lives). If something else drops, we might change our minds. But Mills has no chance against Collins. An outsider might. And people outside Maine who haven't seen him up close don't understand his appeal.
October 24, 2025 at 7:59 PM
It is astonishing, isn't it? Living in Maine, talking with neighbors, the gulf between those conversations and what everyone online thinks Mainers are concerned about is enormous.
October 23, 2025 at 6:21 PM
You really know nothing about Maine, starting with the wrong date for when Collins was re-elected. It was 2020, not 2018. We have high turnout in all elections here in Maine. The ridiculous number of people bugging us with phone calls, postcards etc. probably hurts Dems, not helps. MYOB.
October 23, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Thank you. So irritating to have all these keyboard pundits who know nothing about Maine weighing in. I've lived here for decades and am very tuned in to state politics, and I have no idea whether Platner, Mills or someone else will get the nomination. 8 months is a long time till the primary.
October 23, 2025 at 1:30 PM
So insulting to Maine voters. Primary season will be interesting next year up here.
October 8, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Hi Amy! That is exactly what he is doing. I went to his Ellsworth event a couple weeks ago and he called for volunteers to do door to door and phones on October 4 for No on Question 1 rather than any outreach for him now. There were 850 at that event alone. Well organized planned blitz Saturday.
