Sen's Fortress is a great intertiary to the concept of the extent of verticality expressed in dork souls. I really enjoy how the sequel (SotFS, to be postumous) expands on this idea, including multiple "dungeon crawl" segments that involve exploring in and around the dungeons to progress.
