This reads as pejorative, but it just sounds like you are sad about the sci-fi club not being exclusive enough anymore. Great books that are sci-fi are still being written and the genre is evolving. Is the sci-fi equivalent of navel gazing black hole gazing? Check this out
The Old Iron Dream

No more embarrassed than with any other president re: foreign policy. This country has sided with dictators and used countries as pawns for strategic gain for decades.

That is like a comic book level theory of evil. It’s more just narcissism in the vein of moderation and experience being more appealing than brash youngsters.

I am subscribed to both your newsletters :-) Though might need to take a break from Zeke’s only because I think I may not be the audience for it. Thank you so much for your work @katharinehayhoe.com.

How healthy would you say it is to keep up to date with these GMST projections? Paging @hausfath.bsky.social too. I feel like my mood is being highly tuned to these updates on global temps. Apologies for putting either of you in the role of a therapist.

Thank you for your paper. I’ve always wondered how scientists like yourself deal with results like this. Do they excite you, scare, both.

Is it correct to say most of record low albedo was regional? This a lot of record warming was regional too? Global means are obviously important as a grounding for models, but impacts and predictions are most meaningful at a regional level.
