Mr. Reiner, progressive champion, artful knight, we’ll miss your powerful voice and your talented mind.

Thank you for all the tiny, little pieces of time.

Both of these films are poignant political treatises. One on the military industrial complex, the other a look at what could be in American government if only those empowered took that responsibility seriously with the humility, humanity, and dignity deserved of the office.

- Finally “A Few Good Men” and “The American President” both written by Aaron Sorkin, the latter of which was the precursor to one of my all-time favorite shows, “The West Wing”.

- “When Harry Met Sally” is the quintessential all-American Autumn set rom-com.

- “Misery” is another excellent adaptation of a King novel putting Reiner up there with Frank Darabont, and Mike Flanagan as true multi-King film whisperers.

I want to touch on just a few points of his filmography.

- “Stand by Me” found me in a time when I was right around the ages of Gordie, Chris, Teddy and Vern, nearly 20 years after it was released. It has been a favorite film of my childhood ever since I first saw it.

To paraphrase the recent film “Jay Kelly”, movies are, as Jimmy Stewart once said to director Peter Bogdanovich, “little, tiny pieces of time” that, if your good at, people will never forget.

Rob Reiner gave us several pieces of time, and he was good at it.

Awhile ago I received a Lego order in the mail that included this promotional set honoring the work of Mrs. Goodall.

From an early age I was taught about, and knew of Dame Jane Goodall, her tireless efforts with animal conservation and study of champanzees, among other apes and monkeys.

Thank you Dame Jane for your life of committed service. May the heavenly jungle receive you with thundering gratitude!

Saint Carlo Acutis would’ve been my age.

Pope Leo XIV canonized his Sainthood earlier today.

The school building was torn down in 2014.

I’m realizing that the last kids to attend, graduated high school in May of this year. Truly the end of an era.

Mrs. Custer was always nice, and willing to talk, and help you out. She’s the third of my teachers to pass, after my Third Grade, and Freshman English teachers.

Around for over 100 years, Lincoln no longer exists, as all the city elementaries were eventually consolidated into one new elementary.

Last week in Ohio high school football match-up between Waynedale and Tuscarawas Valley, a freshman—Mayson White—was injured during the game.

White fractured his C-4 vertebrae, and had to be carted off the field. As a result of his injury he is currently mostly paralyzed from the head down.
