Haven't seen that third pair of emoji before, that's hideous

"unwise" is about seven shades too generous, but i'll take it over their normal output of toxic waste

just never occurs to some people that maybe people lie or are wrong sometimes

raiders is lightning in a bottle and spielberg still managed to make several movies on that level. multi-generational talent

i appreciate that will is often right about the substance of what he is saying but i also find the reaction to his manner of saying it equally instructive.
December 27, 2025 at 6:09 PM
you are arguing a point that nobody here is disagreeing with

the thread you chose to respond to is about how freak accident events like a bullet missing by inches can totally change the course of history, which is an X factor that makes prediction unreliable at best
December 24, 2025 at 4:28 PM
totally agree that's a really bad sign

you still haven't addressed the fact that trump being alive at all is a fluke, too.
December 24, 2025 at 4:19 PM
trump is a perfect example

he won by just a couple tens of thousands of votes in key states, which would've cost him the win otherwise

he is only alive to even *be* president today because thomas crooks pulled the trigger two seconds late
December 24, 2025 at 4:06 PM
an insane amount of history works like this

lincoln, archduke ferdinand, trump himself. sometimes freak shit happens and predictions just become completely worthless.
December 24, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Oh yeah this guy is just doing straight up ZOG nazi conspiracy shit, it's crazy.

Every Jew everywhere, no matter where they live or what they are doing, is a legitimate target if you just gesture vaguely at Zionists, to these people.
December 24, 2025 at 6:39 AM
By contrast, it's basically impossible to believe that the Bondi shooters selected a Chanukah event by pure accidental chance.
December 24, 2025 at 6:35 AM
The FBI said he wasn't part of any foreign network or acting at anyone's direction, though you can take what the FBI says at whatever value you assign to it. He was radicalized online for sure, though.

I have never seen any convincing evidence that homophobia was a motive, despite the target.
December 24, 2025 at 6:34 AM
Omar Mateen probably selected Pulse due to a lack of security, not specifically because it was a gay club. Obviously it was an act of tremendous violence against gay people in Orlando, but the motive for the attack is pretty well established to have been related to ISIS, not homophobia.

"Heather Marsh is known around the world"

lol

classic bluesky, "this thing i am personally interested in, everyone obviously knows about it!"
December 22, 2025 at 6:54 AM
Those games were *egregiously* bad about this. Cannot stand Mass Effect for many reasons but this is close to the top of the list.
December 20, 2025 at 1:23 AM
There's a wide swathe of ostensible leftists who just fully believe in 19th century race science when it comes to the word "semitic"

Surreal to realize sandy hook happened as long ago now as it had been since columbine when sandy hook happened
December 15, 2025 at 1:10 AM
You are so embarrassing
December 15, 2025 at 1:07 AM
who the fuck asked you?
December 15, 2025 at 12:40 AM
i guarantee you i speak better german than you do
December 14, 2025 at 5:38 PM
the semitic language family is not the origin of the word antisemitism. this is a false etymology that confuses a lot of people but from the very beginning, antisemitism was used as a substitute for Judenhass ("Jew hate") and it has always meant a hatred of jews

this is the surest way to enter the kingdom of heaven
December 14, 2025 at 5:21 PM
maybe games *could* be some kind of Wagnerian Gesamtkunstwerk some day (without the late Romantic German racism) but they just aren't that right now, and they certainly won't get there with all the softpedaling and excusing people do for the unremarkable stories that even most award-laden games have
December 14, 2025 at 12:18 AM
i think a lot of the desire for games to be validated as The Highest Art comes from the basic desire most gamers have to be flattered with the notion that their hobby is highbrow art, and they are very smart and tasteful for enjoying that hobby. simple consumer identity at work.
