There is much to grieve this week. I don’t believe you need to find a silver lining in every trial, but last night I met online with 30 folks from our diocese across the Southwest and Mexico, and we learned church history and prayed Compline together.

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who has a tricky relationship to this holiday. Maybe it’s not that happy, and that’s quite alright. There’s room for it all.

It was such a wonderful morning in Idaho Springs. During such a tumultuous time in our nation, I’m more convinced than ever that the quiet and faithful work of the local church is the way forward.

Been a lot of feeling helpless and in despair these last two weeks. Much to grieve, especially for the most vulnerable in our midst. I’m not sure what else to do besides continue to pray the daily office and read about faithful people of God. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.

Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake.
Amen.

A blessed Lord’s day and last Sunday in Advent to you all. Also, I am so grateful for my church and our priest. What a gift.

We were on the road home all day today, so we’ll celebrate St. Nicholas Day tomorrow morning. It’s been a joy to learn about and celebrate feast days in the Anglican tradition.

Where are my PBS watching, crisp air walking, jigsaw puzzling, nature gazing, occasional bird watching, antique store browsing blue skiers at? 👋🏼 and what are you watching on PBS lately?

1/3 From Julie Lane-Gay’s new book: “To my surprise, our feelings and responses were not the focus of the service, nor were the pastors. The only personality we attended to was God's….Even as the worship felt awkward, it ministered to my longing.”

Still pinching myself that I can just drive 10 minutes and take a lovely little hike like this. After a couple weeks of illness, the fresh air and blue sky are welcomed companions.
