And it would totally make sense! Tim Curry has an English accent, and his character isn't in on the plan. Sean Connery's character is supposed to be Latvian. I don't think we know where Sam Neill's character is from, but he's all in on leaving, so presumably not Russian.

I maintain that they should have just let everyone use their real accents in the parts of the movie where they're "speaking Russian" and said it was because there are different accents in Russian, too! Maybe give the Communist Party official a posh accent to contrast.

...(2) it's not like The Terminator is the only time he was on camera in the 80s. His performance as the Terminator is very distinct from how he acts in Conan or Pumping Iron. His physical performance in particular!
