This is leading to a future where sex workers’ financial avenues are closed off if they’re hit with a charge (like prostitution) and are forced to turn to FSSW even if they don’t want to do it.

being in her own head about herself and about transness and just generally making sense of the world as she goes

Agree about the stakes. I do think however Wynn is legitimately at risk of becoming more reactionary over time, I think she has always had the seed of it in her work. Beyond disliking her I/P postings this year I try not to speculate too much on her however as I think she is prone to bouts of

I agree. I think you could argue Wynn is becoming more reactionary while McBride is trying to navigate a system that is antagonistic to Americans, including transgender ones — but that both are failing transgender Americans in specific ways regardless

I think, to be blunt, a lot of people understand she is trying not to get shot

one’s beliefs and positions by nature of the office. Congress’ disarray and decline is very complicated and the issues it has will not be fixed by one trans woman elected to serve

Many “firsts” are simply proving they deserve a seat at the table. They have to be careful not to rock the boat for many reasons, up to and including personal safety. What McBride reveals is that the identity of the Congressional representative does not change the sacrifices the office does to

I will say I do ultimately have less sympathy for McBride, I believe she has essentially made decisions that are not to the benefit of the trans community, but I think it’s important to have one’s notions of her challenged by an expert on the Hill — even if your opinion stays the same

Kate also is doing something I mentioned earlier on my piece on newstubing and the risks of independent journalism. The goal of a journalist is not to make you happy, it is to make you think hard about important things. If we are doing opinion stories, you should not always agree with us

The impression I’m getting as well is that this covers a lot of the added costs you may normally come across with GenderGP for similar services, hence the added price. From what I can tell. Both are online of course
November 20, 2025 at 8:46 PM
That said it IS all online. I think this is for people that just want all the GenderGP services bundled together and accessible at a drop of a hat, vs signing up for GenderGP and then eating additional fees as you go

GenderGP has a lot of hidden costs for services that, from what I understand, are packaged into this clinic

My guess is that there are more irl features / services offered compared to what GenderGP can do

Wondering where the expense difference comes in and why. Is it a matter of what’s offered with these folks? I don’t want to automatically assume upcharging is occurring without a good reason
November 20, 2025 at 8:30 PM
HRT because of some underlying medical issues they were concerned about (and not the usual “maybe a blood clot risk might be raised” type stuff). People sometimes want a third option, I don’t think this automatically makes what’s offered predatory. Not from what I see so far
