All due respect, appealing to their self-interest has always been the best way to get through to Republicans.

If Trump doesn’t shred the Constitution and declare himself octogenarian dictator, it’s very likely in 2028 the Democrats will face…an Ivy League lawyer! Let’s have fun with that.

I agree in principle. It takes all of us making inroads with people who are not our social strata. The genius of the last Trump campaign? They targeted nonvoters. More to the point, they knew how to reach nonvoters. It ain’t a one hour sit down special on CBS, anymore.

100% - It was McCain’s turn. Hillary’s turn. Romney’s turn. It was not Obama’s turn. Not Trump’s turn. Leaders lead. They don’t wait their turn.

The working class is not OK with Democrats.

Point being while, yes, there is some condescension, it’s more just estrangement. We need to grow our social circles and we need people who are comfortable with all kinds of people.

Abandoning rural voters was a fatal mistake 50+ years ago. Reagan simultaneously crippling labor while seducing labor with jingoism. Offshoring jobs the final nail. Educated people expected others to want to join us. Now we watch in disbelief as half(?) of unions support an anti-labor party.

You bring up a great point (regardless of whether Platner is cut out for high office). “Toxic masculinity” is a way an awful lot of men grew up. Owning up to it, moving past it requires a certain amount of grace. We need people for the long haul, not just the next election.

I doubt he’s the first Marine to get drunk in a foreign port, get a “badass” tattoo, and find out the symbolism later.

I heard drug prices were going down 200, 300, even 1000% in some cases.

Pretty great unraveling of the Laura Loomer of CBS.

I assume it’s just an intelligence test I keep failing until I finally accidentally hit on the right combination.

See, socialism all about who “deserves”it and who doesn’t.

Somehow this isn’t a big story. Here’s Witkoff at work.

Newsom’s error maybe was playing host rather than guest. Kirk doesn’t need Newsom for a platform & we should indeed be engaging these people. We need to be in those spaces.
