My kids think my job is "typing and sighing"...

They’re not wrong.

ADHD parenting is easy if you enjoy screaming “WHERE ARE YOUR SHOES?!” every morning like you're in Saving Private Ryan.

Charlotte is a genius.
Definitely the winner!

ADHD makes me a romantic.

I’ll stare into your eyes and think, ‘Wow, your eyelashes are uneven. Did I feed my dog today?

Lovely 1°c ice bath dip on a Sunday morning…

Egged on by the wife and kids changing

“do it, do it, do it!”

So had to do it didn’t I? 🫣

So I am going alcohol free in 2025.

Looking at new ways to improve how I handle ADHD. If anyone has gone on the same journey with advice please comment/DM me!

Only just realised that I’ve spent the majority of the day in my vest that I slept in.

Chucked a jumper on and got on with the day. Feel filthy now…

You mean…I don’t have ADHD?

Oh I’m sorry, Steve…I’ll go and emotionally dysregulate in the corner like a good little boy shall I eh?

P.S who da f**k is Steve?
(He could be my neighbour actually…that’s awks)

As an ADHDer I’ll apologise….

To absolutely f**king nobody.

You’re welcome.

Working in tech as an ADHDer is a huge advantage. I can be certain that I am 142 steps in front of you because I have already thought about every possible outcome from the levels of anxiety I go through daily.

This will always be the hardest thing I DO on any given day. Plunging myself into cold water (8°c) is the perfect way to start my day.

As an ADHD it’s effective as any drug they can prescribe you and in the winter you gain both the benefits of the cold water and the resilience to manage life.

I am clumsy. It’s in my nature as an ADHDer!
Here is a round up of the day so far…

- Smacked my head on the fridge in the kitchen
- Slipped over in a car park
- Nearly lost an eye
- I dropped my iPhone 4x
- I bashed my head on my boot (trunk) door
- Peeling potatoes and my thumb at the same time 😩

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt from cold plunging to aide my ADHD is that it’s the hardest thing I’ll do that day.

No matter what sh*t is thrown my way. Plunging into freezing cold water will be the hardest thing I’ll do. So if I can do that…

Well, I can do most things.

Five things I do to help make my ADHD manageable.

1. I take a cold plunge/shower 4-5 times a week
2. I focus on eating lean meats and protein focussed diet
3. I walk 30 minutes daily
4. Set boundaries with family to prevent burnout
5. I finish work daily strictly at 5pm (+work phone off)

You?

Fully agree. Im friends with people who advocate meds and how it’s changed their lives for better but I agree that it should be part of a much larger wellness routine 👏🏻
I feel this. For me the big one was that medication might make certain things easier, but it doesn't fix everything.

Building an audience is hard. The adhd brain is firing on all cylinders because I’m eager to learn and build and then when I don’t get the traction I want after a few posts I’m riddled with RSD.

We keep on pushing 🙏🏻

5. Things I wish I knew before I was diagnosed with ADHD:

1. Diagnosis is not the destination. It’s the start.
2. It doesn’t get any easier.
3. People will still judge me despite having a neurodevelopment disability.
4. You have to learnt to say ‘no’
5. Discovering your boundaries is emotional.

As an ADHDer something hit me hard about seeing my son hold the teddy we got from his 20 week scan with his heartbeat in 💜😭

Working in tech is tough man.

-One minute I’m building solutions
-The next, I’m putting out fires.
-Joining calls with colleagues to help put fires out.
-Then pre-sales to help with technical questions.
-The sales to help secure a deal.
-2nd line support.

Standard Wednesday.
