Chaotic neutral NPC. Technorati capitalist. Backbench electioneer. Hard determinist machiavellian. Black hat. Black tie. Always kayfabe. Somebody nobody sent
I don’t think so, unless it was using an LLM to do its work 🤣

Fine is viable. Simmons is viable. If Biss gets dragged into a food fight with Abughazaleh they could damage each other out of contention. That could open a door for Simmons. I agree Fine has a low ceiling but also a high floor

Yes, I think it is a very interesting experiment. I have a friend who wants to do something similar but I have the same reservations, sorta for these reasons. LLMs have a world view they apply to facts, they don’t form a world view from facts. At least that is my theory

Last, the model cites Biss’ 20-point victory in Evanston as a local insurgency but those are municipal elections with a much more conservative electorate. So, yes, that was a competitive race, but half of reliable primary voters didn’t even vote in that election.

The third lane is occupied by Laura Fine and it is probably the security hawk lane. Business interests may overlap here, but the people mentioned by the model do not appear viable.
December 5, 2025 at 7:25 PM
I would call Abughazaleh’s lane the anti-establishment left. A lot of people always hyping the next young candidate are backing Abughazaleh or Amiwala. A lot of “I used to love Biss” but now prefer a candidate with no history.
December 5, 2025 at 7:24 PM
I feel like it is about 50% right, at least about the lanes/blocs you presented. The establishment technocrat lane occupied by Biss states the obvious so I am not sure how much credit it gets.

How much does it cost to buy one of the other IL-09 campaigns? I still have a few people on my Christmas list to shop for.

The wealthy donor class sticks together.

Northwestern’s decision is 100% a Board of Trustees (top top donors) decision with no real support on the ground beyond “least terrible.” This dude has poured $800,000 into his own campaign

Within Evanston you could call splitting downtown into three or Northwestern’s campus into two wards a gerrymander, whether it is deliberate or not (debatable)
December 2, 2025 at 9:31 PM
The goal of gerrymandering is to break up people that could form a bloc and distribute them across districts where they are just not a large share of the electorate. To that extent people in the far west have a legit gripe.
December 2, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Like most “public benefit charities” Northwestern is owned and operated by a, wealthy board of donors who get to decide its future, not its staff or the community it serves

She would vomit on Mike Johnson’s floor to end the government shutdown. What is your candidate’s plan?

I can’t tell where the second agent’s right hand is. My colleague was stopped at another Home Depot as a suspected illegal. He said the scariest part was one agent staring him down with his hand on his weapon. Not drawn, but totally unnecessary. A US citizen no less

The problem with the process is that was an almost overlooked concern. Instead we discussed what kind of food is “compatible” with our neighborhood character wink-wink and accusations that Popeyes and the City were engaged in some closed door conspiracy.
September 25, 2025 at 2:41 PM
The problem is this is a special use so it is not within the bounds of the law without approval. The traffic consequences are very real (I lived on that block for 20 years) with Popeyes alone, nevermind the other tenants they would lease the remaining space to

Yes. Boneheaded and uncalled for. I do not question Buddhism as a religion. I do not question the church lady's personal conviction to her faith. Those are not words I would ever use. I do not research a sixty page report of facts then start calling people names. The facts will speak for themselves

Last week she said it was religious persecution because of being Buddhist, like if I found out it was a Catholic Church I would have not reported it. Reporting is a protected right. In fact the IRS form I used was created specifically for reporting these cases. Religions aren’t immune to scrutiny
