I think that's fair and I also don't think it's what Abi was referring to in the original post tbf, you're saying please, plus your follow-up is still a question also! It's just the "I'll have X" with no follow-up I also feel is rude.
But it's just a cultural language difference really.

There are a few legitimate reasons they might say no e.g. it's sold out, it contains certain allergens. The conversation for me usually just goes like:
"What would you like?"
"Can I have the X, please?"
"Yep that's no problem!"
"Great thank you!"
Doesn't feel stilted and just feels polite!

Not sure if it's growing up in a UK school but hearing "I'll have Y" just makes me instinctively want to respond "oh you will, will you?"

Feels more like the right are becoming more radically right (which is very concerning still) rather than people moving more to the right.

Hope to see a higher result for Greens in reality but still this would be a pretty positive result all in. Yes 18 Reform seats feels disgustingly high, but it's essentially just the people who already held those opinions and voted Tory last time.

We should have support systems in place for people who regret a bad decision. But most of us will make 1000 decisions in our lives we'll regret later, some of which could've done with the gatekeeping that transition gets.

There's no excuse for trans healthcare to not be the same way outside of bigotry, absolutely none. "Oh that's different it's for health reasons" they'll say. Completely ignoring how transition can literally save the lives of people contemplating suicide due to the lack of transition.

I just went for a consultation about my appendectomy. They laid out all the possible worst case scenarios, asked if I still wanted to go ahead with it, I said yes so they booked me in. That's an irreversible surgery, they can't just stick my appendix back in in a few months.

Liberals for some reason can't believe that transphobes actually mean what they say. They're so desperate to make excuses for them and give them the benefit of the doubt, but won't make a single step to do the same for trans people.

People who weren't victim to it could just ignore it, and pass off comments as jokes because it didn't affect them. They're more annoyed they have to acknowledge it now than necessarily annoyed about the issue itself.
