All mushrooms are edible, once! Actually the #amanitamuscaria or #flyagaric can be consumed if boiled for a substantially long time, the water discarded, the mushrooms reboiled- seems like a lot of effort for little flavour though!

The #PV panel saga continues as I have managed to get them up onto my flatroof which I thought would be the hardest part. I now have to put the batteries on the roof too as the cables are too short- but the bigger problem is the home electricity fuse box which needs to be replaced

Its the weekend so back to setting up balcony PV. I have attached support rods and loosened the bolts on the side mounts to get the "perfect angle". Now need to work out what this is for a flat roof in my location, but thinking of going full South facing, so far online Im told 15 to 40 degrees

I spoke to neighbours about how much they produced and stored and this seems to be about right for us- together with the mounts, cables etc, Ive paid €2300 with a company called Tepto who delivered in around a week. They had great reviews and it all looks good.

Incidentally, my water filter is a Berkey, painfully expensive but well worth it given that our waters have been poisoned.

The ducks escaped today and I came home to catch them red-handed in the path by the front garden, foraging for slugs. There is a fence but it’s not even in the first picture! Lucky no dogs got them but they have become real Houdinis and expert egg hiders.

Before I go to work I let the ducks out and dig up a few spadefuls of an empty vegetable bed so they can have some worms as a treat- they love it and quack in delight each time!
