How did my national park, photography and ski adventure get started? Here's a throwback to the start written in 2014. In 2010 I said fuck it & quit my (online marketing agency) job & packed the car. A 2 month trip turned into 8 months, 8 months turned into 10 years.

US can do large scale public HC. 40ish percent of US goes through Medicare/Medicaid/VA. Gonna be a lot of needless bankruptcy and death if there isn’t an overhaul soon.

“Fixed” is the equivalent of a payday loan to get through the next year. At some point soon it needs to be torched and replaced with something that actually provides affordable care.

There should have been a public option to buy into Medicare/Medicaid but too many politicians owned by HC interests. Might actually be affordable at this point if we had that.

Ah, I guess I'm in my own bubble since I hadn't made any connection between ACA tax credits and other policies. Between govt funding and employer/individual premiums we must be paying far more than some sort of universal plan would cost.

The ACA tax credits only directly affect what, 6% of the US population. That's around 25 million people. If I had employer based insurance especially if I had never had to go through the ACA marketplace, I doubt I'd be focused on marketplace tax credits.

A huge percentage likely want to see Trump get rid of Obamacare but fervently want to keep the ACA subsidies. Another big chunk probably have zero idea they are on the Medicaid expansion because states often have their own name for it.
