NCAA wrestling brackets just dropped. Always a few head scratchers. But I think the committee did a good job and used common sense mostly. Alirez taking 1 loss and dropping to 8th is non-sensical. But at least they split Kerk and Gable.

What happened to these holiday wrestling tournaments? The Midlands and the Scuffle and shells of their former selves. There was a time when winning then midlands was tougher than winning the NCAAs at some weights.

Looking at the CKLV semis. The 2 that stand out to me are Ramos/Spratley at 125 and Hendrickson/Feldman at heavy.

Big weekend for wrestling. CKLV and Ironman, plus PSU v Lehigh on Sunday. Could be some big shakeups at a few weights. 197 is loaded at in Vegas and Beard/Barr in a dual.

I finally was able to watch the Chance documentary on Flo. Very well done. The arc of chance’s rise then fall into drugs and then rise to make the national team by beating Burroughs made for a really compelling narrative. I also appreciated Chance’s candor.

Seeds are out for the Black Knight invite. No shock that Penn State has 9 #1 seeds. Would have been 10 for 10, but it looks like Davis is a scratch at 133. It looked like he tweaked his knee in the Drexel dual last Sunday.

This is a great story. Sasso was shot and nearly died in a robbery attempt. That fact that returning to compete for OSU’s wrestling team is amazing. Good luck to him in every match, expect vs. Penn State 😀
