We played Kutna Hora, which sounds cool, but the gameplay. was a bit convoluted. I think the population and mining decks are over-produced, I feel simple tracks would be better. I also think the mining mini-game was not integrated well enough. I'd have to play it again. #boardgames #bgg #brettpiele

Played Amalfi, a trading in the Mediterranean game, but with a novel worker placement/worker as resource system. A nice game, a couple flaws IMO, but not bad. Worth a look. #bgg #boardgames #brettspiele

Cargo Empire: gateway game, some fun mechanisms. I wish the board was a little tighter, maybe ports could be a tad more difficult. It's good, though. Check it out. #bgg #boardgames #brettspiele

We played Saltfjord. I was so exited! Sadly, it was divisive. I enjoyed it-- I like resource conversion, engine building-- but others in the group hated it. Random, boring, no interaction. Probably true. We'll play something else, then! #boardgames #bgg #brettspiel

Played Power Grid: Outpost. Small variant of Power Grid, I liked the twist of managing the cards, and the worker market. It's fun, feels more flexible, but not very different from regular PG. Recommended! #bgg #boardgames #brettspiel

Luna is a great game, classic. Very clever action mechanism that forces thinking ahead; what you want to do takes several steps. #boardgames #brettspiel #bgg

Nerding out! I even got the power supply that stabilizes the input amps. #retrocomputing #vic20 #commodore #c64

Played Aeolos. Almost likeable. It's an "OG" style game with simple rules, and some mild interaction. I found the vanilla rule set too light for me, but there is an added expansion that I think is needed for hard-core gamers like myself. #boardgames #bgg #brettspiel

This series is starting to grow on me. The initial premise was great, then it started to get weird, then it got even weirder and that's the point. #FiredOnMars

Yspahan. Great, old classic. (Do play with the one-card per caravan building variant.) I like this blend of dice, board, cubes. Euro-delicious! #bgg #boardgames #brettspiel

I tried to teach my group the game Madeira, but the rules were too complex for some and we didn't finish. Maybe 3 players would be better. I really liked it, though. Anyone want to play? #bgg #boardgames #brettspiel

Bites is a simple, fast, but math-heavy game. It's a point manipulation game. Actually quite fun and thrilling. The cards change up the rules, but honestly I'd keep the ant-hill scoring the same and change up the chocolate/wine/special rules. #boardgames #bgg #brettspiel

Funny, never played this until now. The description never "called" to me, like Samurai (not my thing) or Ra (amazing), and the rules turned me off a little, but I really liked Taj Mahal. Loved the bidding. What fun to find a crazy-old game and discover something new. #boardgames #bgg #brettspiel

Sardegna (Kreta). It was "okay", but I prefer Web of Power series (Han, China, Iwari). Random card flips were fortuitous, I think the variant of 3 face up cards is warranted. Crunchy game, though. #boardgames #bgg #brettspiel

Whistle Mountain, 4 players. A unique, interesting game, but a bit unpolished. With a bit of streamlining, it could be an amazing game. We had fun with it. #boardgames #bgg #beziergames #brettspiel

Forest Shuffle. My chestnut tree armada was sunk by another chestnut tree armada, armed with butterfly cannons! Not a bad game, but not the right fit for my group. #boardgames #bgg #forestshuffle #brettspiel

Diamond shapes for glory! Mille Fiori. I like it, but fairly luck-dependent. #bgg #boardgames

Brew Crafters. I lost, lol! My cheap beer-producing empire that specialized in barrel brews was almost a bust. $16 in loans at the end (I had points to cover them). #bgg #boardgames

Lignum. Very good game, about drying out wood. Intense! Drama! Rules could use a FAQ, so I'll do that. #boardgames #heavyboardgames

Firenze didn't go over too well with The Group. I liked it enough. Keep or sell, I don't know. #boardgames #bgg
