What a person and life-story! I always remember watching wonderful Jane Goodall documentaries with my Grandfather, showing those often-dismissed bonds between humans and our animal kin.

And may we all have that verve for discovery to continue our lifework at 91!

Dame Jane Goodall revolutionised our understanding of our closest primate cousins
Those she inspired say she not only revolutionised our understanding of chimpanzees - but challenged how we relate to the natural world.

A sacred Mayan cave system in the Yucatán is under threat from projects like the Tren Maya, where concrete pillars are already polluting water that flows to the Caribbean. History, culture, and climate all on the line. #Yucatán #ClimateJustice #Maya

Ah, just wonderful! Yet another rights-trampling policy. I can't wait to see how they deal with the flurry of lawsuits because 4.5 MILLION people don't have smartphones in the UK - and that's for for many reasons (i.e. protected characteristics). #DigitalID #BrokenGov

Moved by @unesco.org's launch of the Museum of Stolen Cultural Objects. Powerful way to push back against illicit trafficking. One day, may we also see a physical museum, where returned treasures can be honoured in the communities they belong to. #Museums

When I thought the universe couldn’t get any weirder… UChicago physicists suggest dark energy may be evolving. This could mean a new particle, a changing cosmic acceleration, and a Big Freeze billions of yrs from now. Not a physicist, but pretty awesome! #Cosmology

Mural in the museum at #Bewcastle, just north of Hadrian's Wall, showing the many phases of human activity there: from Roman (site of a six-sided fort!), through Anglian, Norman to modern (note the RAF on the horizon). It is a remote, captivating spot. #RomanFortThursday #Cumberland

A photo of a colourful painted mural inside a museum. It is from the perspective of looking through a gap in a ruined wall, on which a shepherd sits with his sheepdog. Sheep rest around the Bewcastle Cross as a Roman cavalryman approaches. Rolling hills disappear into the distance, and an RAF jet flies low just above the horizon.

This is a must-read. Survival is priority in Gaza, yet citizens race to save centuries of history. Gaza is more than violence: it’s culture, heritage, people. The horrors and destruction witnessed are so unnecessary and cruel - they damage the whole of us as humans.

Read about the damage to Lincoln’s Roman wall this morning. Dr Samantha Stein compared it to the Sycamore Gap felling, but harsher, because stone doesn’t grow back. Hard to see heritage chipped away like this. #Archaeology #History #Lincoln

When political violence takes a life, as it has done to Charlie Kirk, we all lose. No matter our beliefs - and how fundamentally we might disagree - murder is never justified. It fuels extremism and tears at the fabric of democracy. We need to break this cycle: now! #EndPoliticalViolence

Very interesting France is considering this. It would seem to cover artefacts between 1815 to 1972 that were illegally removed.

That time frame would definitely include the Dendera Zodiac.

Anyone have a full text of the bill they could direct me to?

Fondly remember working with Gabor at Bishopstone. Great to see his team’s Cookham discovery. This monastery may have been one of our first hospices, showing how caring for community health has always mattered.
