@advancedenergyunited.org agenda for states is simple:
👷Build it
✨Make it flexible
💲Make it affordable.
My call to action for our industry is to engage NOW in states and regions so that decision-makers understand how our industry can help them meet the moment.

“Many of the states with the largest increases in wind and solar generation since 2010 — including Iowa, New Mexico, Kansas, and Oklahoma — have seen rates rise slower than inflation” — @energyinnovation.org

Trump Blamed Rising Electricity Prices on Renewables. It’s Not True.
Some simple charts show there’s no real relationship to speak of.

Scoop: The Trump administration is now pushing for national mandatory land use restrictions on all wind projects — including those on private land — by claiming they present a risk to critical communications infrastructure.
Trump’s Total War on Wind Power
Since July 4, the federal government has escalated its assault on wind development to previously unimaginable heights.

This Energy Department report is cited nearly two dozen times in the EPA's rollback of the endangerment finding and some of the claims are, well, let's look at a few of them

govt and corporate savings > consumer savings

(not to mention all the health problems this will cause/exacerbate)

The kicker is claiming this will save money, when the EPA previously estimated limiting car and truck emissions "is expected to generate more than $2.1 trillion in net benefits over the next 30 years, including $820 billion in fuel savings and $1.8 trillion in public health and climate benefits."
EPA to revoke "endangerment finding," landmark basis for regulating greenhouse gases
The EPA has decided to revoke a key scientific finding it published 16 years ago that six greenhouse gases are a threat to public health.

Yeah, the rollbacks are bad – as Harry & @sarahsteinberg.bsky.social explain – but they also ID opportunities for industry growth, and share where they're optimistic about the road ahead.

🎙️ Thank you @sarahbaldwin.bsky.social @energyinnovation.org for having @advancedenergyunited.org on the show!

“There isn’t going to be a gas fired generator any time soon,” Tillis said. “You can’t get that online and the same time that [renewable] pipeline’s going down.”

First time GOP opposition over this made public in Senate debate on the reconciliation bill.

Senate Republicans would like to light hundreds of millions of your taxpayer dollars on fire for no reason other than spite by forcing the Postal Service to mothball EV delivery vehicles and rip out already-installed charging infrastructure. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
Trump and GOP’s tax bill would sell off USPS’s brand-new EVs
A little-noticed part of Trump’s tax and immigration package would see the U.S. undo billions of dollars in electric vehicle investments by the Postal Service.

‘Throwing us off a cliff': Megabill could derail hundreds of planned clean energy projects

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is actually One Big Expensive Bill that, if passed as is, will do major damage to the U.S. economy, harm workers and families, and put the U.S. in the backseat when it comes to global competitiveness. The team at @energyinnovation.org modeled it, here's what we found:

As written, the tax package passed by the House would abruptly cut critical advanced energy tax credits, putting billions in investments and thousands of American jobs at risk. These changes undermine our energy security and threaten the economic momentum driven by advanced energy deployment.

Advanced Energy United's Ryan Gallentine spoke to @thehill.com about announced funding pauses, saying they are creating confusion and “the other practical impact is that a lot of the private capital that’s flying to these projects gets frozen up.”

It's also unclear how much of the current problem is simply that the RTOs have so badly mismanaged interconnection queues that we simply cannot bring online sufficient capacity no matter what the market prices are! That seems to be what drove capacity prices up in PJM in 2024.

Reminder to my energy friends that the announcement today rescinds the Monday OMB memo but did not rescind the IIJA/IRA freeze memo. Still a ton of advocacy that will need to be done on that front.
