He’s done it his entire life and just did it for an entire season in which he led a team to the 2 seed and the second round at barely 24. And he did nothing wrong. He tied the game. He plays in structure all the time and makes plays with talent when needed. Quit regurgitating things you are told.
January 19, 2026 at 4:51 PM
Oh all his amazing plays are part magic but he repeats it so often you have to just realize the normal ideas of what is a stereotypical play don’t apply. He knows he can do crazy shit.
January 19, 2026 at 4:23 PM
He could’ve done a lot of things. The point is you can’t call it “absolutely horrendous” like you know better than an incredibly talented player who succeeded in a way he has shown he can all season. Especially with your lack of background in the NFL.
January 19, 2026 at 4:20 PM
That’s true. Except for Caleb Williams it’s not a panic play. He does things like this all the time. He was in control the entire play and knew he could make that throw. And he did. It’s improv but it’s not a prayer. He buys time and makes ridiculous throws. That’s part of his game.
January 19, 2026 at 4:17 PM
All 3 WRs are covered and he gets pressure from the left side so Kmet not a great option on what seems to be later read. It’s just not great. And with his talent, resetting a space to throw where he did is a viable option. He got room, saw Kmet and threw it over the db.
January 19, 2026 at 4:14 PM
Tell me how the play was horrendous then Ben. What was the play call and what should Williams have done differently? He gets immediate pressure, runs back, plants, sees Kmet and throws it 55 yards into his hands. What should he have done differently?
January 19, 2026 at 3:25 PM
This comment doesn’t even make sense Ben. Get it together.
January 19, 2026 at 3:22 PM
If your argument is Caleb Williams isn’t incredibly talented I’ll let you die on that hill buddy. There’s hall of fame players and coaches along with current guys saying that as well.
January 19, 2026 at 3:19 PM
You called one of the best playoff throws a QB has made to save a season “absolutely horrendous”. How does that show you know how sports “actually” work?
January 19, 2026 at 3:17 PM
I actually just followed a starter pack after I joined. But after seeing even that incredible play be called awful I realized that 95% of sports coverage is just bullshit now.
January 19, 2026 at 3:08 PM
He’s done it all season. These are not prayers for him. He’s that talented.
January 19, 2026 at 2:59 PM
This is you thinking you know better than your own team and qb. Who are professionals. Idiotic.
January 19, 2026 at 2:56 PM
Caleb has done that 10 times this year. You can see him see Kmet and aim it. It’s not a Hail Mary. It’s just a play you don’t understand because it’s a crazy talented play.
January 19, 2026 at 2:54 PM
The process is Caleb makes great plays every week. And you don’t know anything about it from your couch. The players and coaches know how to win. You know how to watch tv.
January 19, 2026 at 2:53 PM
We are basing it on the ultra talented qb running straight back from pressure, planting and throwing an all time throw to his receiver to save the season. Not a completely different play from another game, yes. Your argument is insane.
January 19, 2026 at 2:50 PM
I’m not the one saying the great play was actually bad. I don’t need wisdom to agree with the truth that happened in real life.
January 19, 2026 at 2:48 PM
I wasn’t the supposed professional saying a great play was actually terrible. That’s you. We are both just watching the game but you somehow think “knowing ball” is more important than the literal truth which is lame hater fan behavior let alone lame professional behavior.
January 19, 2026 at 2:47 PM
I’m not interested in what might’ve happened. A touchdown to save the season did happen. The hypothetical world where guys on the couch determine what is and isn’t good football and what would and could’ve happened is not what anyone cares about.
January 19, 2026 at 2:11 PM
It was a 50 yard dot to a player with a 7 inch height advantage to save the season. Caleb makes a brilliant throw like that once a week. There’s no “knowing football” about it. It’s laughable this guy or you gets to determine what great players do isn’t actually great. You know nothing.
January 19, 2026 at 2:07 PM
Whole nation cheers incredible play.
Ben from Cincinnati: “Actually that was absolutely horrendous.”

That is bullshit fan speak you’d hear from a Packer fan with 9 followers. But you of course work for ESPN. What a fucking joke.
January 19, 2026 at 5:53 AM
It was a great play and you are disputing that which is a ridiculous opinion full of ego and self-importance. You didn’t coach or play and saying an incredible play to save the season was actually bad QB play is just obnoxious.
January 19, 2026 at 5:49 AM
“Actually the good thing was bad…”
People who talk about sports for a living are the worst thing about sports.
January 19, 2026 at 4:36 AM
Enjoy running it back with Matt LaFleberflus.
January 19, 2026 at 3:49 AM
A receiver slowing up on his route?
January 19, 2026 at 2:57 AM
Loveland ran wrong route.
