Universal GDM screening at 18-20 weeks may not improve pregnancy outcomes, except for a reduction in neonatal hypoglycemia. Newborns of women diagnosed with GDM at 18-20 weeks had higher adiposity.

Hypoglycemia is a common and deadly complication of type 1 diabetes. Continuous glucose monitoring may now provide better clinical guidance than prior hypoglycemia symptom assessments.
