Really enjoy the fight scene but some dialogue definitely did not age well. Pre-teen me definitely forgot about most of the problematic stuff in this

Agreed - TGA has always been driven by a mix of community engagement with a game and sheer size of the studio/# of sales (that’s why there’s always some Call of Duty or Ubisoft slop in a category) and we can’t deny that the Witcher, cyberpunk, and Elden ring all have strong cult following

It won best ongoing but was also nominated for best narrative. Agree that ideally GOTY should be a full game but ultimately the point is to award the teams behind the games for their amazing creative and technical work. That was the case for phantom liberty last year and it’s the case for SotET now
