For me they are perfect metaphors for both the Aristocrat and Oligarch class, as well as "human" predators (SA, Serial Killers, etc) and I always find myself rolling my eyes at the more sympathetic portrayals. Mine is going to be more of a 'magical curse' style of vampire, but I think I like it!

I've been working on this grand fantasy universe on and off for the last five years now. When I go back to look at it I see echoes of familiar legends and stories. It's a silly little hobby, but it satisfies. Plus it lets me make vampires properly monstrous and that's ALWAYS fun!
