Idk. My company i was originally with got acquired during the pandemic and it just became a layoff machine lol.

I wish I had stood up for myself and insisted I switch to development, but I dont think that would've saved me.

At my compant you could switch from dev to qa but it was a one way street.

Like everyone is salaried so like, they get nothing extra for being a dual developer and QA.

And they're taking someone else's experience away from them for convenience and cheapness of using a tool.

One of my former colleagues said his employer made them purge QA from his team. Now the devs are basically QA in the form of prompting AI to write docs or automation scripts.

I wish I knew. I got laid off almost two years ago and I have effectively feel excommunicated from software QA.

Id like it sooner rather than later so I can get a job again tbh.
