Un poco

I wish I could've learned it better as a kid. And now, since I don't have a job or go to school, I don't have a lot of opportunities to use it without chatting up random people who are just trying to go about their day.

And I live in an area with some of the fastest Spanish in Mexico, too.

I've accepted I will never be fully fluent (I'm 52) and will settle for learning as much as I can so I can get my point across and understand what's being said.

What I've noticed is that Spanish speakers learn to speak and understand English faster than they learn to write or read it, but English speakers learn to read Spanish faster than they learn to hear and speak it.

Same. And of course verb conjugations. But at least it has *rules* and it rarely deviates from them.

It’s exhausting to have to start everything with, “That person is a piece of shit” before you’re allowed permission to correct false statements.

It's got Moon Zombies, y'all.

She said it was the only way to deal with it since they were going to use it anyway. And as a bonus, they ended up learning how inaccurate it was.

I remember a recent story about a teacher who had the students use chatgpt to write an article about whatever the subject was and then had them research outside of it whether it was correct or not.
