Council members Sanabria and Martiz at different points mention "innocent until proven guilty". Sanabria said that this is standard in his experience having been called into an investigation at a non-profit he was employed at.

Despite being called out of order and legal counsel stating she is not allowed to comment on this item she proceeds to say she is not for this item "This is gonna cost the community members money"

According to Lopez there are no major strings attached to the funding from Metro. He clarified that every city is free to determine how they will address the issue of congestion.

There will be a parking study planned in the future and the public works director is suggesting revisiting the project and attaching this to a future project such as the southeast gateway line.

These comments are on regards to a project that began back in 2019 to award the city of HP funds somewhere around $8M to address traffic congestion along Slauson Ave. The public works director stated that this is in collaboration with Metro to alleviate traffic coming and going from the 710.

One business owner is now having problems with neighboring businesses who have parking lots. Customers of businesses without lots are taking spaces from other businesses.

All subsequent speakers that submitted cards are small business owners along Slauson Avenue who are having numerous issues with new parking restrictions that have gone into effect.

He also said without owning property or a business you aren't paying taxes into the city and you can't be as invested in caring for the city.
To clarify, at least 2 / 5 members of the current council have children at least 1 owns property.

First commenter is an older man who gave comment in Spanish. He made some complaints about the balance of the current council. The major point he makes is that if people don't own property or have kids in the city then they are not truly invested in the community.
