I got weak and bought a Prusa MK4 frame and other spare parts from someone's upgrade for 45€. I guess when I find a cheap heatbed and a mainboard I have basically another 3D printer. Just more Frankenstein-y.

My local garbage disposal company offers the collection schedule as a CSV file (besides a badly formatted PDF and iCal). I've been using it with a little self-programmed tool to transform the CSV to a LaTeX TikZ calendar format. Spent an hour and hopefully next year I don't have to make any changes.

I had problems with setting up PrusaLink. One MK3S+ demanded a serial number beginning with CZP but none was on the frame. A forum post said to get the iSerial entry of the USB device that can be read with Linux with 'lsusb -v -d 2c99:'. It worked after entering that. Not user-friendly by Prusa.

I swear I had long (18mm) pins to solder to my RPi Zero 2 W but now I have to wait a few days to get them attached to my printers. I got the RPi Zero 2 W for Christmas. All I want is not to run constantly with SD cards and remember what's on which card.

With the power of over-engineering and 3D printing I repaired my mother's ironing board's height adjustment. The original mechanism slipped and I had to break the main components in order to make it repairable that I replaced with my prints. Otherwise I would have been a new purchase. 50€ vs 50cent.

In the last few days I've been learning how to CAM with Autodesk Fusion to make gifts. My cheap Chinese 3018 CNC that's good for nothing was barely good enough to engrave soft rubber stamp rubber in order to make custom stamps. Cleaning up the stamps was hard as the cuts left small strips of rubber.

I'm going regularly to the flea market to find something good for cheap or unobtainable otherwise. This year I saw always a few vendors who sold "mystery boxes". WTF man. Seriously. I am at a place where I want to see and feel what I'm buying. I already own random crap and don't need more.

I have glued on Creality's BuildTak-like surface on a Prusa print sheet. Removing the glue of the original smooth PEI surface was a torturous ordeal but in the end it was successful. Just did a calibration print with PETG and the BuildTak and I must say it's quite sticky. Maybe a little too much.

Just came back from the school and installed their new Prusa MK3S printer. The teachers were ecstatic that they had anything functional. I also explained how to slice and what not to do, like printing PETG on smooth PEI sheets.

The food at the Christmas market is surely over-priced. Not bad but quite lacking in quantity or quality for the price. I was today with friends there otherwise I'd avoid this and all the people.

Today's D&D session was received positively by my players. I've leveled up as a DM.

Deep gauges in the middle of the plate. I cannot give that to anyone

I just bought a used Prusa MK3S, funded by the company I work for, for gifting it to a school. The seller added a second print plate but it is heavily damaged. I looked up how much it costs to add a new PEI film on it. It's way too expensive. A new 3rd party print sheet is much cheaper.

TIL that it's possible to stream videos from VLC to Chromecast. In the 'playback' menu under 'renderer' there is a Chromecast option.

The Tutolino 3d printer, an Anet A8 clone, is an absolute shit show of a printer. It had a massive clog in the heat break preventing printing. I replaced the whole hotend but the fan shroud didn't fit anymore due to slightly different replacement parts. Need to print a fixed version.

RIP my Jalapeño plants. I had to throw them into the trash because they were infested by aphids. Instead of salvaging them I decided to that drastic decision because I determined the trouble isn't worth for a 1-year plant.

I wanted to put a LED strip into my original Prusa enclosure and looked for a Molex 15135-0503 connector cable however they are weirdly expensive buying only one. I don't want to pay 20€ for shipping. I guess I'll solder the cables directly to the board.

Hopefully I am printing with my SLA printer for the last time for a while. I have printed a lot of things for my friends but now it's my turn. I have even bought a 3D model. Originally I had an edited model of an owlin monk but I have lost it somehow. I found a better looking model anyway.

I don't like resin 3D-printing. It's so messy and slimy and gets everywhere.

After 3 years of ownership I am using my Elegoo Mars SLA printer for the first time. I avoided using it as SLA resin printing is pretty messy in comparison to FDM. Now a friend wanted a figure and now I can put a few of my own on the plate to make the work worth the hassle.

I hate that my workbench has only a lock with keys as door knobs and I pull out the keys more often than I want to (i.e. never). Also I hate that opening and closing the door is dependent on something that can be lost. I just modeled a replacement in CAD. Sadly I won't print that in metal.

It took me two hours to replace a 2004 LCD screen for my Prusa MK3S. I *really* wished I had a vacuum desoldering iron. I had to flood all pins with solder and wiggle the pins out of the holes. At least the printer is operable again without guessing or extremely tilting the screen.

After 20 hours of printing without any problems after changing everything (thermistor and heat cartridge) and calibrating the once believed to be fixed Prusa MK3S printer has a thermal error again. I just disabled the thermal model of that printer. It's infuriating.

Desoldering pumps suck. They barely work for me. I want to replace the 2004 LCD display of one of my printers because of severe burn-in of the polarizer. However that endeavor is hindered by simple sticky tin. I guess I have to flood everything with solder and just pull while the solder is melted.

Having the players run away work only a session or two. I think I do a LOTR situation where they need to destroy it in the volcano where the villains reside. It can also backfire greatly as my players are highly risk-averse.
