Oh yes, I’m aware the cost is legitimately elevated for Kona beans. My point to the folks saying “buy American,” for this particular commodity is, it is NOT a cheaper option, nor is production high enough to supply the entire US.

My favorite is when people try to say “Buy American instead!” and I point out that Kona coffee is $30/lb IN HAWAII WHERE IT’S GROWN!! people are so effing clueless about where their goods come from, it’s no wonder we’re in this predicament.
