Love dogs, otters, model kits, Mass Effect. I hate Russia and dislike anyone who would want to control my daughters choices. If that's you, don't follow me, you are not my friend.
My son was always doing that until I got him one of these. Its made by Tamiya.

Some strong Eve Online Stratos vibes here...

Maybe you will find these useful from my visit to the Tamiya store in Tokyo

Next up...RFM M1A1 FEP w/bulldozer blade. I always start on the tracks. 900 pieces of plastic, each with two sprue attachment points. Pain, lots of pain. They look good though and are nice and flexible after assembly and priming.

I use a similar method but use a foam lagging tube instead. More easy to handle and reusable - I've had the same piece for 5 years or more.

Taipei, not many model shops in Taipei but this one seems to have the best selection (AFV.com.tw) - 2 min walk from Songjiang Nanjing subway exit 5.

About $30-$33 each and the M142 about $8. Stirling was a good price and I usually hate Italeri kits - no other modern option though.

Some close up's, seems I only took 3, I was in a hurry to go watch the mighty McLarens dominate at Spa ;-)

Closing out the RFM Challenger 2 build, here are the photo booth shots. I don't do any post processing, just as they come off my iPhone.

4 Corners...

Teaser before the final shots tomorrow probably.

Box in bin shot can only mean one thing...

Detail wise fine, but the assembled tracks were quite stiff and wanted to bow in one direction heavily. I have seen this before with plastic tracks when tolerances are too tight. First is their natural shape after unrolling. Second after straightening. One length still bowed. May look ok installed.

Wanted a simple scheme so went for the overall Light Stone using a Tamiya mix. Base coated and some post shading done, decals applied. Oils next. I haven't been taking 'progress' shots.

Lost my modelling mojo for the first half of this year but just getting it back, sort of. A couple of trips to Taipei meant I could fill my spare suitcase with some lovelies (can hold 6 RFM/Border/Takom) so I went ahead and started one. RFM Chally 2.

Have any problem with the turret? the old AM instructions had me close up before installing it. Doesn't fit. I had to butcher the plastic on the ball but you cant see it.

I see the confusion - the masked off bit is the bomb bay not the cockpit 😉

Accurate Miniatures used to do that too. This was their Avenger, quite small and feint and only noticed after mr surfacer airbrushed on.

Well well....on sifting through the detritus I hoovered up one more time before binning it. Guess what I found? 😉

Comet's back on the menu boys...

Thanks Charlie!

Well...bugger...

A34 Comet is on hold, I lost a piece and cannot find it after several pairs of eyes scoured the area. Messaged Tamiya USA yesterday and they are normally quite responsive but recently ignored/didn't see my message about a lost F-16 rudder bar so we will see. I lose lots of parts 😒

Can't decide if the overall effect was too subtle. I don't tend to go for the overly excessive tonal variations you sometimes see, but I think I may do some post shading on this one. 1st pic colour is the most accurate. Albeit slightly darker in the flesh. iPhone... 🤷‍♂️

While doing the various painting and final detailing on the Panther I was getting TV time withdrawal symptoms from not building anything (I assemble my kits/tracks while watching some cop show or other). So I started this. Being Tamiya, it went along quickly and I now have all the preshading done.
