I find myself coming back to books I really liked in my teens, which sometimes makes me question what I saw in them then. Foundation, for example, now seems much less good. But I am skipping around now and not reading all the way through.

Well, a smaller country beside a large economic union can be mostly made to work, as Canada shows. But it requires adapting to the new circumstances. I don’t know enough of the UK to say for sure, but I think the Brexiters oppose the policies needed to make Brexit economically viable.
