I'll be hating the Yankees until the day I die and when they lower me into grave I'll get back to hating them from the fucking sky this hate is the gift given to me from my forefathers and I wear it every single day with Pride

The first excerpt from our forthcoming book edited by @mskellymhayes.bsky.social, Read This When Things Fall Apart, is a letter by Aaron Goggans about how fascism warps consensus reality—and how organizers can learn how to live well outside of it, without letting conflict and trauma rip them apart.

I’m still riding high from last night. My first playoff game, incredible stadium energy, and then to get the W (against Skubal!) was just so cool. Very grateful I got to be there.
Large digital banner that says “Mariners Win!” at T Mobile Park following ALDS game 2 victory. Outside T Mobile Park at night with the customary “W” lit on the roof indicating a Mariners win.

Well I this round I wanted Padres to advance and Dodgers & Yankees to fail dramatically, so not great. Also now there is nothing to distract me from my Mariners anxiety.

Yet more reasons to support indie presses, who are critical to a thriving literary ecosystem in the face of ever-increasing corporate consolidation. In my experience, indies are much more willing to publish work that doesn’t necessarily fit in with prevailing commercial trends.

BREAKING: Cascade PBS, which operates the website Crosscut, is laying off 19 people, reportedly including its entire news staff. In an email to staff, CEO Rob Dunlop blamed federal cuts, saying the nonprofit is "winding down our longform, written journalism."
