Two Canada 🇨🇦 Geese, a cormorant and a gull are playing “hide and seek” but I don’t think the gull knows the rules.

These floating #bbq / #fondue boat thingies in #CanaryWharf always appealed. Now in a #geodesic dome to keep the cold out. Must try.

This poor #swan landed on the walkway next to the #MillwallDock and of course cannot take off or hop over the fence to get back in the water. The railings go as far in the other direction so it’s quite confused. At least me and other walkers gave it some room.

I found an old (maps circa 2016) Garmin #satnav in a box. Uses a USB-B connector. Fairly #retro #gps. I wonder if it still works. Does anyone use these things any more?

Odd how drainage can be done so badly on a #canal -side path!
Still, a nice sunny day for a walk (hop) and plenty of #BirdsUK to see.

I walked past this statue in #CanaryWharf almost every day for 15 years but only really looked today.

“Draped Seated Woman,” a bronze #sculpture by artist Henry Moore, created between 1957 and 1958. Locally, apparently, it’s often referred to as “Old Flo”.

The sculpture depicts a seated female figure with draped clothing, in Moore’s signature modernist and abstract style. The form is robust and simplified, with the facial features largely abstracted and the body rendered with flowing, natural lines that evoke both monumentality and tranquility. This pose and treatment are typical of Moore’s post-war bronzes, emphasizing organic curves and a sense of grounded presence. Originally, the sculpture was purchased for public display in Stepney in east London under the London County Council’s Patronage of the Arts Scheme in 1962. After the demolition of the Stifford Estate in 1997, “Old Flo” was moved temporarily to Yorkshire Sculpture Park for safekeeping. In 2015, the Tower Hamlets mayor pledged to return the statue to the borough, choosing Cabot Square as its home, making it a prominent landmark and part of the local art heritage in Canary Wharf.
