The Great Grey Shrike at Beeding Brooks (Sussex) showed really well yesterday (found by Bob Eade). The white tips to the greater coverts are just about visible in this pic – which means this is a 1CY bird (hatched this year). @sussexornitholo.bsky.social

After a bit of a dry spell for finds, had a good run over the last week with a Black Kite north of Waterhall (27th), a Green Sand at Monks Park (31st) and a Wryneck at Sheepcote (today).

After a bit of a dry spell for finds, had a good run over the last week with a Black Kite north of Waterhall (27th), a Green Sand at Monks Park (31st) and a Wryneck at Sheepcote (today).
Mostly non-birding holiday in northern France was great. Good numbers of Black Redstart & Turtle Dove, Whiskered Tern, Middle Spotted Woodpecker, White Stork, 150+ Spoonbill, Serin, Zitting Cisticola, Spotshank, 9+ Garganey, Black winged Stilt, LRP, 10 Black necked Grebe, Night Heron and Crested Tit
