This is such a good idea! Let me discuss with some folks, maybe we can get this going.

The pain and suffering still happens, you just aren’t sitting with it. You exist with your own exploitation, and carry the burden of others’ as well. When you realize that you can no longer do this, it is painful. But only then can you contribute to a better world.

It’s exhausting and overwhelming to not be ignorant, to open your mind and be dedicated to learning more. But, a quote that always sticks with me is:

“The unexamined life is not worth living”

And it’s true. To be ignorant is to live a meaningless life.

Do you really think that we can defeat fascism in this country by being picky about who we're working with? I'm not advocating working with groups who directly contradict foundational values. But, say you disagree on what action will be most impactful. So what?! Do both. Help each other.

While this is not exactly what Angela Davis had in mind, it is a valuable question. Canadians are already boycotting U.S. goods. We have an opportunity to dismiss arbitrary divisions of country and build a transnational coalition of solidarity.

It made me think critically about the current movement in the U.S., of which I am a part of. How can we connect our struggles with those across borders? The first that comes to mind is Canada. Our once strong allies are angry, but so are we. Can we work together, to boycott and fight back?

One example brought up is the relationship between protestors in Ferguson after the killing of Michael Brown, and the Palestinian activists in the occupied Gaza Strip. Recognizing the tear gas being used against Ferguson protestors, Palestinian activists reached out to share their knowledge.

Found this interesting article on here. It goes over counterinsurgency tactics used by the police, it seems pertinent to the comments here. No judgement at all, just an interesting read.

Counterinsurgency: dousing the flames of Minneapolis
As people rise up against police violence and structural racism, what counterinsurgency techniques is the state deploying to attack and undermine the movement?

Folks with the ability to put themselves in these situations… can’t we at least start pulling the masks and sunglasses down so these people can be identified?

But GSUS is decentralized and independent, and are every day people doing the work? I don’t think anything’s gate keeping. My understanding was just that the website was on the flyer but it wasn’t associated, not that the strike shouldn’t happen if not associated w GSUS.

They’ve put out reminders that it isn’t being organized by them.

I don’t think this is being organized by @generalstrikeus.bsky.social but their website is on there.

But not organized by GSUS right? That’s what they’ve said.
