Been looking forward to this one for a while.

Hopefully I will be playing it soon with a friend whose family is from ex-Jugoslavia and is obsessed with its history.

It's easy to laugh at those who get paranoid about copyright and believe they have the best idea ever, then sh!t like this happens.
That is why I will never participate in a jam.
Did you know that Angry Birds, Candy Crush and even Minecraft are based on stolen ideas?

The only "women in space" news worth mentioning this week is that many of them are getting fired from #NASA so Musk can shift the funding his way.

New #blackmirror season is great, you fools.
Even if it wasn't good (it is), I'd watch it for the British videogame industry references alone.

It's like when Cyberpunk 2077 came out, I pity the fools that are missing out on 90% of the context.

Post the first video game you remember playing.

Freedom Fighters on the Philips Videopac (I believe the system was called Magnavox Odyssey 2 in the US).
I was very young but I clearly remember the moment that changed my life forever.

PC gamers can brag about mouse controls being better than console controllers, but can you play your PC with 2 MICE?
Yeah, didn't think so.

Family and friends will want to see you succeed in life, of course, but not too much.

I can't believe I am here praising the Daily Mail, but Battleboard is one of the best series of war reports ever.
It goes from strategic to tactical and it shows how relevant #wargames are in representing real-life battles.

An acquaintance's mum once was seen in a local bookshop trying to buy 4 METERS of books.
That means just random books that you fill shelves with.
I had no idea this was a thing and remember mentioning it to my own mother, avid reader and book collector, and she just couldn't get over it.

IGN's new Sniper Elite: Resistance review tells us how predictably the series is in need of an overhaul, by gifting us with this gem:
"Besides, if I wanted the ugly contents of a nazi brain to fill up my screen in 2025, I'd just go ahead and log back on to Twitter"

Macs could have been the most expandable systems ever.
Interesting how #Apple could have taken one of the nerdiest aspects of computing and make it so accessible.
I grew up on 90s consoles, so all I ever wanted in life is to slot grey slabs of plastic into bigger grey slabs of plastic.

The blackletter logo of the new #nosferatu movie is very basic and kinda ugly.
It's clear from the letters that someone in the graphic team looked into blackletter #calligraphy for a week or 2 and came up with this.
There are many, many calligraphers out there that could have done a much better job.

In 1959 the Chiswick flyover was opened in west London. Jayne Mansfield, who was in London at the time, appeared during the inauguration. Something worthy of a plaque apparently, shown in the picture beside an excited game designer.
Yes, it's a road. Yes, I have questions too.

New year predictions for the gaming world:
-The next evolution for souls-likes is what FS hasn't done yet, which is more varied gameplay beside combat. FS games are 90% combat, which is fine, but imagine an Elden Ring (top game) but with villages, more NPCs, more trading, crafting etc.

A REAL ad for a cruise missile by a REAL defense contractor.

If cyberpunk as a genre is short-term sci-fi, it is inevitable that some of it (my estimate is 10-20%) becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
This is also accelerated by metamedia and meme culture.

As a lifelong fan of the series, IMO Alien Romulus is good but not great.
Many self-references as usual, but being a total UI nerd I was mostly fascinated by the on-board interfaces and noticed a few things:
