I’ve been harsh on the Democrats for their lack of a meaningful opposition too, but they actually are doing the right thing here. Jefferies has said this on camera, AOC and Bernie did a whole video about it. We know the playbook, their lives are in peril and they’re being pretty brave rn

I don’t understand why people are more angry at voters off-put by genocide than at politicians who commit it. I voted for her & understood deeply what was at stake, so I also canvassed for her. But it was her job to win votes. She didn’t even do the bare minimum of hearing anti-genocide folks out

Right? I’m all for the first amendment but tbh it’s impact on the US’s libel and slander laws should be scrutinized. Like how when right-wing journalists tried to call queer people “groomers” in the UK, queer ppl were able to take them to court over it, while here we just have to deal.

given the whole Oprah vs the beef industry thing from a couple decades ago, I’d assume yes. I believe the beef industry lost their suit v Oprah (could be wrong) but also beef was in fact carrying mad cow, while Tylenol does not cause autism. Not super helpful but I think that’s a relevant precedent
