'Vanderbilt Museum and Planetarium' - another recent embroidery commission that now has its new home... doing the buildings was a challenge for me, I'm not so experienced on those. I think I got good detail in without it getting overcrowded :) overall, this aerial landscape was a good challenge!

A past embroidery commission I forgot to share on here... an aerial view of an equestrian farm somewhere in America! This was such a lovely landscape is embroider: the horse fields and red farm houses are so pleasing :) such a soothing green landscape 💚

Happy Autumn! For the season, here's a past Autumn landscape of mine called 'Autumnal Auras'. Colourful trees and mist lying low on the moorland edge 🍂 I would have done it a bit differently now (should I do another??) but it's still an aerial embroidery I'm very proud of!

'All paths lead to water' - my newest aerial embroidery, inspired by the grounds of Antony House, Cornwall! I loved the radiating paths through the trees leading to the water edge so here's my take on the landscape... with kayakers! Now available here: victoriaroserichards.co.uk/collection/a...

'Moorland pools' - the fourth landscape in tomorrows mini art update! This one is essentially a smaller version of the last moorland piece I showed where I just wanted to play with shape and texture some more :) I'll post tomorrow afternoon when all 4 are up, around 4pm GMT on my site! #embroidery

2/2 Some close-ups of the landscape! All elements are embroidered except the rocks, which are made using pine bark chips that I found and painted in shades of grey 💚 this landscape is growing fast on me... could end up being an all-time favourite embroidery landscape of mine!

These are the first two pieces of my rock series - I wanted to combine some pine bark chips I painted to resemble rocks with my aerial embroidery, both for seascapes and moorland landscapes. These are the two mini sea ones - do you prefer the left or right? 💙🌊 #embroidered #ocean

A failed experiment intended to be desert mountains but because I used soft foam, its warping as I add more thread. I'm now starting a new piece using more foam but sewing French knots on the surface since those don't 'buckle' like split/satin stitch. So now it'll be more like a moorland tor!

'Across the Outback' - its so hot today in the UK I thought I'd share this hot Australian aerial I sewed a couple years ago. I just love the rich red earth and blue-green eucalyptus trees... plus the little truck travelling through the landscape :) #embroidery #fibrearts

'Dunvegan', Alberta, Canada - I can finally share this embroidery landscape commission, quite the most intricate piece I've ever created, and I'm so so proud! To me, it really represents how far I've come since I started in 2019. The hoop is 14-inches across to help visualise it 1/2 #embroidered

A new little series for the summer! These will be mixed-media embroidery landscapes, I collected a small handful of pine bark when I was on holiday recently as I loved the curious shapes! I painted them grey and now they're perfect little rocks for some seascapes 😊 #sewing #artproject
