#R4today that was odd with Davey. Libdems get very little chance to get on the airwaves but is then cut off at every turn.

#r4today the question isn't one of bemoaning football but asking what one if the largest minority sports can do to extend beyond its core group of the privately schooled and players from Indian, Pakistan Bangladesh and Sri Lankan heritage who and the bedrock of most local league teams.

#r4today ah I see paid for service that the manufacturers tell us work I see.
December 18, 2025 at 6:57 AM
#r4today so the discussion on weight loss drugs lost in a discussion about why as a society we collectively pool money for the general good and more time given to Jane Austen. The discussion on big food and big pharma left barely half covered.

#r4today I swear they don't listen to their own news item which discussed opening up Erasmus to apprenticeships and other levels of study.

#R4today so how are we able to offer criticism of the actions of a state without that turning into a criticism of a religion or people? Condemning attacks such as Bondi or October 7 is right by how do we observe the actions of a state critically without the accusation of tipping into something else.

It's clear that targeting people celebrating a religious festival is a disgraceful atrocity.

It's not justifiable to pull together the actions of a state with people who share a religion.

Something rotten at the heart of Bristol Rovers 12 months of car crash viewing.

Not that it matters as such but England are so maddening. First innings 150 light and crumbling under the lights now.

#r4today the systems cost what we would have expected. None of our infrastructure magically doesn't degrade or need improving. Take your pick schools, hospitals, energy and railways. Even the approach to broadband

#r4today great remind us of all the pointless items this year.
December 4, 2025 at 7:53 AM
#r4today the chap with his sport book may well be telling us how things are but I kind of thought that the olympic ideals included fair play. So pretty much advocating a process where there are bribes and essentially unfair processes while honest is probably worth a level of challenge.

#r4today this is a bit late but the whole young people leaving the UK thing seemed to get bogged down in the 'Nick' thing rather than the impact of what workers in key roles leaving the UK. That's not to say city workers are not important but the impact on caring for an aging population is immense.

#r4today well done to Hugh and Sally for highlighting that change in the food industry is structural and not just the recipes that were wanted.

Links to the budget piece when thinking about how better nutrition is funded and legislated for and whether all growth industries are good for society

#r4today A lot spoken about 'illegal' routes but at the same time I'm not sure I ever get an understanding of the legal routes to claim asylum. Most if not all visa routes check on the intention and purpose of coming when any hint of not staying within that route can see you turned down.

#r4today Perhaps I've missed something but I would love to hear an overview on how we get to the point where another prime minister looks like their days are numbered. It looks like a post Brexit issue but maybe that's just my perception.

#r4today what chance of any defence of the BBC with fear of Trump's reaction. From memory of the trump speech the shocking aspect was what followed and the ability to see the response to it with the storming of the capitol building. Cut it how you want but it happened.

#r4today I've two ideas on how to improve football. 1 Every time there is a decision that may or may not be correct commentators, pundits and managers should say everyone makes mistakes some for us some against and move on. 2 Proper scrutiny of the owners of clubs and funding
November 11, 2025 at 7:05 AM
#r4today I've heard Boris Johnson's views on the BBC treated as valuable contributions to the debate rather than observations from someone with a track record of being incredibly untrustworthy and being kicked out of being PM for being useless.
November 10, 2025 at 8:41 AM
#r4today the insidiousness of the clip of Farage effectively calling for the mass non payment of licence fees is perhaps the most maddening.
November 10, 2025 at 7:38 AM
#r4today obviously the Musk pay thing is grotesque but surely it is dependant on him not spending any money as he goes along. If I earn a million pounds in my working life I'm not sure that makes me a millionaire
November 7, 2025 at 7:53 AM
#r4today perhaps the reason why a strategy for public service wasn't in place because the conservatives were in charge and would have been happy for it to wither away.
November 7, 2025 at 7:50 AM
#r4today The Smiths, surely this is one for front row. The book maybe great but it's in the same category of the regular airing of stories about the moon being larger in the sky. Put it in at 8:57.

#r4today ITV programmes Inspector Morse, Brideshead Revisited. I'm sure they have made more programmes since the early 90's
