absolutely not! i typically use ACE to re-enable them but the method doesnt really matter, it's just whatever lets you enjoy the game more!

found this out after i blended all my pokeblocks to (almost) max out my contest stats, but then i accidentally clicked "make another" and it wouldnt let me cancel. i threw an oran berry in and missed like 200 times out of pure spite.

I feel like as long as you put a disclaimer saying that you would recommend just making your own cartridge instead of supporting bootleggers, it'd be a good idea. I made my own with a label I got off Etsy and an insideGadgets 4MB single-rom flashcart.
