Motivated to be an active community member of people who care. We cannot give up. As long as we stay involved, there’s hope.

In the last Bulwark Morning Shots of 2025:

“When people show you who they are, believe them.”—Maya Angelo

“I will say to my republican colleagues who are defending the indefensible: there will come a day when Donald Trump will be gone, but your dishonor will remain.” —Liz Cheney

Read on…
“Now I suppose it is too much to hope that the American male of the species, notoriously stubborn and boastful, will in 2026 attend to the guidance of Maya Angelou, hearken to the warning of Ellie Sattler, or listen to the remonstrance of Liz Cheney.”

Read this current status of the Abrego Garcia case: a quintessential example of this administration’s lies/misinformation. As we head into 2026, let’s hold tight to the reply of @joycewhitevance.bsky.social to Sen. Cory Booker question, the Constitution “lives in our hearts + stays in our minds.”
Unsealed: Abrego Garcia
The sealed order in the Abrego Garcia case that I wrote about in Sunday night’s “The Week Ahead” column was unsealed today.

This photo, after the egregious act that will impact in horrific ways many American people who rely on the Obamacare subsidies, visually reveals that republicans in Congress are heartless and ignorant.
This is state-sanctioned cruelty. Stripping healthcare affordability guarantees higher premiums, delayed care, bankrupt families, and avoidable deaths. When leaders knowingly choose suffering as a budget tactic, it stops being politics and becomes moral failure. 🤬

Proud of the artists who bowed out of performing at the Kennedy Center (KC) given Trump’s outrageous act of adding his name. Kudos to: The Cookers, the cast of Hamilton, Jason Moran + Ben Folds + Shonda Rhimes who resigned their respective KC roles, Chuck Reed, Doug Varrone+Dancers, +Kristy Lee

As all student debtors should, given this administration is owed nothing because all monies they receive is used to harm.
“The vast majority of student debtors who seek discharges in bankruptcy are getting them, in large part because of a simpler legal process that was introduced three years ago.”

No doubt he is ignorant of constitutional law. (DOJ+DHS..)
No doubt he is a misogynist.
No doubt he is a pedophile.
No doubt he is w/out @ an ounce of compassion. (HHS, USAID..)

“In Project 2025,which has served as a blueprint for Trump, the former DOJ official Gene Hamilton argued for political appointees to be flooded into “every office+component across the department”+for all decisions “to be made consistent w/the President’s agenda.”

Shocking this is today’s reality.
