A big step in the right direction, and a big improvement for a great many people in a short period of time.

People like myself, will equally penalise asylum seekers in worse positions, who don't fit some batshit crazy criteria. Plus it'll probably cost more in admin than a sensible contract with taxi firms.

This sounded reasonable to me, as I am unable to get to out of area medical appointments, and also don't qualify for help. I thought about it for 30 seconds and realised the faults in the system that penalises

Thought that was a decent answer. Nice to see a Labour politician refusing to participate in the skivers v strivers narrative

This was exactly my thought when walking down a flagged street ealier this week

My experience was very similar, I had no idea what being not anxious felt like. I still get anxiety about certain things, but it's been life changing for me.

You'd think the f***ing Home Secretary would have some idea of the actual law. People who apply for asylum upon arrival in this country are not illegal migrants.

Are they transported in the odd socks? Would explain so much

These figures were for 2024, so not likely. Relocating takes some planning for most people.

Generally true. with the government's relentless, futile obsession with immigration blanket coverage of farage I'm not so sure the next election will be fought on the same ground. Ignore the evidence of your eyes and ears,we speak the only truth" does seem to be reform plcs most importantly command

I'd love to be able to do a few hours of paid work, I currently volunteer supporting people with significant mental health issues who are being let down by services there, but paid jobs just don't exist for the amount of hours I could physically do.

I'm a disabled person, with MSK issues so a target of these proposals. I have about 4 hours a day where, with some limitations I'mt a functional human being and can get some things done. Genuinely curious as to what sort of "instensive sypport" would help?

To a substantial number, it only matters if the girl is white and the attacker is not white.

This is so true, I voted for Starmer as leader. I now think that was a mistake, It has nothing to do with msm, it's because of both policy and communication. my loyalty is to principles and values, not personalities. I wanted so much for him to do well, or at least just be competent and decent.

I read about this a while ago, a very positive step in my view. And it could be applied in so many areas where private investors see large, easy profits from crucial services. All too often delivering a sub standard service to vulnerable people as well.

Cost of living, rather than inflation, but to an extent I agree. If the country feels like a better place 2 years from , they get a chunk of voters from the centre. But, they need to retain left leaning voters, people the leadership has spent the last 15 months alienating to avoid losing.
